Job summary

  • Understand prison-specific technical requirements.
  • Establish ways to deploy and evaluate the app in prison.
  • Recruit participants, collect data, analyze findings, and write up results.

Job Summary / Purpose

The post-holder will form part of a multi‑disciplinary research team investigating how to develop and evaluate a digital intervention for women in prison who self‑harm. The successful candidate will contribute toward the day‑to‑day operation of the study, including participant recruitment, data collection, analysis and write‑up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to prisons within the women’s estate to establish and maintain good relationships between the research team, prison staff and participants.
  • Receive line management support from the Chief Investigator/Project Manager, including regular supervision, objective setting, and annual appraisals.
  • Assist in establishing the model of change and theoretical underpinnings of the Cell‑Soothe intervention.
  • Determine preferable and permissible app content and content safeguards.
  • Develop an understanding of prison‑specific technical requirements and limitations.
  • Establish a feasible way to deploy and evaluate the app within a prison context.
  • Recruit participants, collect data, analyze and write up findings for the study.
