Job summary

Research Assistant (‘Snacktivity’) – Fixed-Term

Loughborough University is seeking a Research Assistant to join the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 12 months. The role is part of the ‘Snacktivity’ research initiative within a globally recognised research environment known for excellence in sport, exercise, and health sciences.

The School has a strong international reputation across multiple disciplines including biomechanics, physiology, psychology, nutrition, sociology, and sport management, and is actively expanding its research capacity through initiatives such as the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine and StemLab. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality research and innovation activities aligned with these strategic priorities.

The position involves supporting research design and implementation, contributing to data collection and analysis, and assisting in the dissemination of research findings. The role also includes collaboration within multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the School’s broader research objectives. Eligibility Criteria:

Required expertise/skills:
Strong research and analytical skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and the ability to work both independently and within a team are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to contribute to research publications and reports. Familiarity with interdisciplinary research environments and an understanding of health and exercise-related research areas are advantageous.
