Brunel University London invites applications for a Research Assistant position linked to a Marie Curie ITN project in the Department of Engineering. The role focuses on developing modelling tools for high-temperature heat exchangers and coatings, with validation through experiments conducted by the researcher.
The successful candidate will pursue PhD studies, hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related subject), and join a 36-month fixed-term program starting 1 April 2027.
We are seeking to appoint a research assistant who will undertake research towards a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering. The main objectives are to develop generalised modelling tools for industrial high temperature heat pumps heat exchangers that will consider modern manufacturing methods. This will include the development of multilayer coatings including bonding methods that are able to withstand corrosive and erosive environments. The models will be validated using experimental tests conducted by the candidate.
