Job summary

The University of Oxford's NDORMS invites applications for a Research Assistant to join the Kennedy Translational Innovation Group on a BioHub project to image cellular metabolism in human lymph nodes.

You will report to the Principal Investigator and work with colleagues across the Kennedy Institute and Kavli Institute, performing tissue handling, multiplex imaging, and single-cell analyses while contributing to project planning and lab management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or Master’s) in biological or medicinal sciences.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Knowledge/experience handling and processing tissues and/or blood in sterile conditions.
• Experience with flow cytometry and standard laboratory assays.

Responsibilities

• Process clinical samples that may arrive out of hours and adapt existing protocols for the culture of human tissues.
• Select, follow, and adapt experimental protocols such as multiplex immunofluorescent imaging and single-cell biology.
• Contribute to wider project planning and ideas for new research projects.
• Represent the research group at external meetings/seminars and manage laboratory administration and stock control.
