Job summary

King’s College London is seeking a Research Assistant in Applied AI for Evidence Synthesis in London. The role focuses on quantitative health data analysis, applying machine learning, and contributing to evidence synthesis projects.

• Clear scientific writing and communication skills, e.g. through research reports, dissertations, publications, or presentations, and a track record of working effectively to deadlines.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

• Essential criteria
  • 1. Master’s degree (already awarded) in Data Science, Epidemiology, Statistics, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or another relevant quantitative discipline
  • 2. Demonstrated experience conducting quantitative or statistical analysis of health-related data, including data management, cleaning, and analysis
  • 3. Strong programming skills in Python and/or R, including the ability to read, understand, and adapt code written by others, gained through research, academic, or applied settings
  • 4. Experience applying machine learning, natural language processing, or other computational methods to health, biomedical, or research problems
  • 5. Clear scientific writing and communication skills, e.g. through research reports, dissertations, publications, or presentations, and a track record of working effectively to deadlines
• Desirable criteria
  • 1. Experience or interest in evidence synthesis methods (e.g. systematic reviews, evidence mapping, meta-analysis) or related research methodology
  • 2. Experience of collaborative software development practices (e.g. version control, testing, code review) and/or contributing to shared codebases
  • 3. Knowledge of, or interest in, climate change and health, particularly in low- and middle-income countries
