  • Day Shift (08:00-16:30)
  • £25.00 - £25.65 per hour
About the Role

An industry-leading global engine and power systems manufacturer is seeking an Agency Technician to join their Advanced Power Systems Division (APSD) based in Peterborough. This role supports cutting‑edge research and product development across electrification, hybrid, diesel, and powertrain systems, contributing to the next generation of sustainable technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support engineering teams with product builds, strip/measure activities, and system testing.
  • Conduct electrical and mechanical diagnostics, analysis, and sign‑off on prototype systems.
  • Perform electrical safety checks and testing using software and diagnostic tools.
  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering leads, suppliers, and customers to meet project targets.
  • Assist with data analysis and continuous improvement of testing and facility processes.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Qualified in mechanical/electrical engineering - apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong hands‑on background in engine, transmission, or power system testing.
  • Proficient in diagnostic and calibration tools (e.g., CANape, service tools).
  • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with a team‑oriented approach.
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport (some travel required).
Desirable
  • Experience with high‑voltage, hybrid, or electric vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge of powertrain, hydraulics, wiring, and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with new product introduction (NPI) processes.
