Benchmark International is the UK’s market leading mergers and acquisitions specialist, handling company sales across all areas of both the SME and corporate mid-markets.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our established organisation and become an integral member of our Transaction Team.

We are seeking a driven, motivated individual to join as a Research and Outreach Analyst (based at Milton Park, Oxfordshire), becoming part of our efficient, well organised and professional support services team, with the opportunity for progression for the right candidate.

The role involves identifying appropriate potential acquirers for companies based on thorough market research via our wide range of M&A sources. The candidate will need to work closely with the other members of the Corporate Finance team to derive the parameters of the search and review and discuss the output of their analysis.

Previous industry experience is not essential as full training will be provided, although prior experience in a research related role or education in a similar field would be beneficial and welcomed. An interest or background in business and/or finance, plus a level of commercial awareness, would be useful.

Key Competencies (Research and Outreach)
  • Ability to collect and analyse information, problem solve and make decisions.
  • Highly computer literate; experience of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel essential.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills; able to communicate effectively with team members, clients and potential buyers/investors.
  • Good numeracy skills and able to analyse and interpret financial information.
  • Excellent telephone skills/manner and good relationship‑building abilities.
  • Self‑motivated with the capability to prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi‑task, managing several projects at once.
