Job summary

Montagu Evans is seeking a creative and insightful Research Analyst to join the newly formed Research & Insight team. Based in our Central Management Team, you will enhance proprietary data sources, produce market and economic reporting, and develop original insights to inform clients and internal stakeholders.

You will work on projects ranging from market states in individual property markets to the demographics of places, and contribute to pitches, client presentations and advisory products,

Qualifications

• A degree in Economics, Geography, Real Estate or Planning preferred.
• 1-2 years’ post-graduation experience in a similar role.
• Excellent analytical, report writing and presentational skills.
• Knowledge of the UK urban geography, urban economics or property market.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and reporting on key market areas and wider themes.
• Develop Montagu Evans’ proprietary market datasets for industrial, logistics, residential and Central London.
• Manage and interrogate third party datasets and maintain our suite of economic and market slides.
• Contribute to pitches and client presentations, requests and reports where appropriate.
• Liaise with stakeholders and the wider Clients, Brand and Markets Team; develop data visualisation to explain trends.

This role is to sit within the newly formed Research & Insight team, working closely with Jon Neale, who leads theteam. It provides market-leading research and data to the business and its clients. The topic matter can range fromthe state of play in individual property markets and the demographics of particular places to the impact of globalmegatrends and economics on the sectors we work in. We aim to provide our clients and the wider market withoriginal insight that helps guide and shape business decisions and draws attention to Montagu Evans’ offer,alongside providing direct advisory products to clients and supporting the business with essential background, factsand data.

Role Overview

Montagu Evans is seeking a creative and insightful research analyst to help improve our proprietary data sources, providing market and economic reporting, and develop original insight to inform clients and internal stakeholders. The role will be based in our Central Management Team. It will be highly visible within the firm and offers excellent opportunities for career development and progression, working within a dynamic and fast-growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Analysis and reporting on key market areas and wider themes;
• Helping to develop Montagu Evans’ proprietary market datasets, with a focus on industrial & logistics, residentialand Central London;
• Manging and interrogating third party datasets and maintaining our suite of economic and market slides;
• Contributing to pitches and client presentations, requests and reports where appropriate

Wider responsibilities include:

• Responding to requests from the business for support
• Contributing to pitches, presentations and client reports;
• Liaising with stakeholders and the wider Clients, Brand and Markets Team
• Developing new ways to visualise data and explain trends

Skills and Capabilities

• A degree, preferably in a relevant subject (such as Economics, Geography, Real Estate or Planning)
• At least 1-2 years’ post-graduation experience in a similar role.
• The candidate will be able to show excellent analytical, report writing and presentational skills, as well as strongcommercial awareness and the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
• A knowledge of, or interest in, the UK’s urban geography, urban economics and/or the property market

Knowledge and experience of the following will be advantageous:

• Sourcing of relevant datasets and information
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced is essential)
• GIS (QGIS preferred) and spatial data analysis skills (training can be provided)
• Statistical languages such as R or Python (not essential)
