Job summary

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Amendment Officer to advise researchers on amendments. The role interfaces between sponsorship and hosted amendment reviews, reporting to the Research Management and Governance Manager.

You will review and approve amendments for UCL and UCLH‑sponsored studies, maintain logs, and communicate with investigators and external stakeholders to support timely, high‑quality research governance.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate with senior clinicians, academic staff and other health service professionals.
• Knowledge of access, arrange and confirm (AAC) site level review.
• Experience in research management and governance.
• Ability to manage amendment submissions and maintain logs and trackers.

Responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end processing of amendment submissions for UCL/UCLH‑sponsored studies and hosted studies.
• Ensure timely and accurate handover of amendments to other JRO teams per processes.
• Maintain amendment logs and trackers in EDGE and file/retrieve core documentation when necessary.
• Monitor performance against amendment turnaround targets; provide updates to investigators and stakeholders.
• Produce amendment activity reports and highlight risks or delays to senior staff.
• Provide guidance on amendment categories and required documentation; engage in outreach activities.
• Undertake general administrative tasks to support JRO operations.
