Summary

The role involves a variety of responsibilities, including clinically screening oncology and haematology prescriptions, as well as aseptically manufactured products. Working within guidelines and policies, the Senior Cancer Services Pharmacist ensures the safe manufacture and final checking of aseptic products. Collaboration with senior pharmacists is essential to meet national and local standards.

The successful candidate will review and monitor patients, offering therapeutic drug monitoring, individualized patient education, and counseling on treatment. Providing advice to medical, nursing, pharmacy, and other staff is crucial, covering aspects such as treatment, dosage, contraindications, and adverse reactions. Participation in oncology/haematology clinics and the clinical ward-based service is expected, involving interaction with the MCHFT Multidisciplinary Team.

Candidates should be motivated by direct patient care, service improvement, and have a collaborative spirit. The role includes weekend and bank holiday working, which can be discussed at the interview. Full-time commitment is preferred, but reduced hours will be considered.
