Qualifications

  • Similar technical/engineer-based experience.
  • Able to obtain and retain HMG security clearances.
  • Experience in a digital print and finishing environment.
  • Experience with using Computer Aided Facility Management systems (CAFM).

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality print outputs using digital printers.
  • Manage wide format print tasks with automated cutting devices.
  • Provide reprographic finishing such as laminating and binding.
  • Maintain and calibrate printers while adhering to health and safety.
  • Generate monthly shredder data and reports.

Job description

Join our vibrant, inclusive community within Amey Complex Facilities, working in the Document Services department, Ministry of Defence, Main Building. The department provides a vital role in producing materials to assist UK Defence in its strategic operations at home and abroad. Working closely with the department's manager and supervisor, the Reprographics Operator/Shredder Administrator will play a crucial role in providing high‑end print outputs for all building stakeholders. They will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of all building shredders, logging device faults, and will be expected to collate shredder data and compile reports.

Responsibilities
  • Produce high‑quality print outputs using high speed digital printers adhering to client specifications.
  • Manage wide format print tasks utilising automated cutting devices and software.
  • Provide reprographic finishing such as laminating, book binding, folding and padding.
  • Scan client hardcopies and save in desired formats.
  • Understand print room workflow processes and procedures.
  • Provide intermediate printer maintenance and calibrate machines.
  • Always adhere to robust company H&S procedures.
  • Undertake daily floor walks of the building to ensure shredder performability.
  • Generate monthly shredder data and reports.
  • Liaise with subcontractors & suppliers to report device faults and request onsite assistance.
  • Manage engineer attendance and book building visitors.
  • Raise departmental orders and monitor stock levels.
  • Work rotating weekly shifts of 8am‑4pm & 10am‑6pm Mon‑Fri.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Similar technical/engineer‑based experience.
  • Experience with shredders and fault finding.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be able to obtain and then retain HMG security clearances.
  • Experience of working in a digital print and finishing environment.
  • Experience with using Computer Aided Facility Management systems (CAFM).
  • As part of this role, you will be required to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) to ensure the highest level of security clearance.
