Our client is a leading housing association seeking an experienced Repairs Supervisor to manage and lead directly employed trade operatives. This role is key to maintaining high productivity, service quality, and safety, while delivering a customer-focused repairs service. The role may include out-of-hours working on a rota to support emergency repairs when required.

Role and responsibilities
  • Support the Repairs Service Manager in delivering a first-class repairs and maintenance service.
  • Coordinate with Repairs Schedulers to deploy operatives efficiently and monitor performance.
  • Ensure repairs are completed on time, to high standards, and within budget, while keeping staff safe, motivated, and empowered.
  • Conduct pre- and post-inspections for quality, efficiency, and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Inspect works on-site, manage complaints, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Promote and adhere to policies including Equal Opportunities, health & safety, and staff management.
  • Support environmental policies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, best practice, and IT systems related to repairs.
  • Monitor materials, stock usage, and operative performance against targets and budget forecasts.
  • Undertake other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Supervisory or line management experience in a reactive repairs environment with directly employed operatives.
  • Building maintenance experience (social housing preferred) and familiarity with mobile technology and IT systems (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to motivate staff.
  • Willingness to work out-of-hours when required.
  • Trade qualification (C&G, NVQ Level 2, or Built Environment HNC).
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
