Job description

Repairs and Maintenance Team Leader required to work with a leading North East Housing association covering the Berwick region.

My client requires a skilled and professional repairs and maintenance team leader to lead a dedicated team of trades and maintenance staff while they deliver building and maintenance repairs on social housing properties.

We are looking for someone who is an experienced tradesman, who has previous experience leading teams of tradesmen and knowledge of building maintenance repairs and social housing. You will need to have a positive and proactive attitude whilst demonstrating enthusiasm and professionalism at all times.

About the Role

Salary: £45,055 per annum (£46,700 plus OTE)

Hours: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday

Location: Berwick

Contract: Permanent Full Time

About You

You will need a comprehensive understanding of building construction and its components as well as knowledge of various building trades and relevant building regulations. Having knowledge of identifying and addressing damp and mold issues is beneficial. As well as having knowledge of social housing repairs legislation and industry standards.

Strong supervisory skills are essential in this role, you must be able to develop a team and optimize its performance. The role requires achievement of performance targets and deadlines. As well as internal staff, you will also manage external contractors.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • NVQ or City & Guilds in a relevant trade role is a must to be considered for this role.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Ideally hold working at heights, asbestos awareness, and other construction safety-related certificates.
  • Must be happy to work outside of normal working hours as part of a rota.
