WeMaintain in London is seeking a hands-on Lift Engineer to join our Operations team, focusing on repair and reliability of lifts installed for our customers.
You will diagnose faults, perform mechanical and electrical repairs, read schematics, and ensure any intervention meets safety standards. You’ll work with other engineers to share knowledge and improve reliability. You’ll work across various sites, maintain accurate records, and contribute to long-term equipment reliability.
Who are we? Operating across Europe and Asia, WeMaintain specialises in the maintenance and modernisation of lifts, escalators, automatic doors and fire safety systems, combining hands‑on technical expertise with technology and data.
Our approach is built on a simple belief: maintenance can be more reliable, transparent and effective when teams have the right tools, the autonomy to make decisions and a clear understanding of what's happening across the equipment they look after.
Since 2026, Otis has been our majority shareholder. WeMaintain continues to operate independently, retaining its own organisation and culture while benefiting from additional resources to support our growth.
Three core values guide the way we work every day:
Our ambition is to raise the standards of maintenance, alongside the people who make it happen every day.
We're looking for an experienced Repair Engineer to join our Operations team in London, focusing on the repair and technical reliability of the lifts we look after.
Keeping lifts running safely and reliably requires more than regular servicing. When components fail, faults become more complex or equipment needs significant repair work, we need engineers who can investigate the problem, identify the right solution and carry out the work to a high standard.
That's where you come in.
You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, carrying out lift repairs and replacing components, working closely with our wider engineering and Operations teams to restore equipment safely and minimise disruption to our customers.
At WeMaintain, we believe engineers should have the tools, support and autonomy to make informed technical decisions and take real ownership of their work.
Your challenge will be to deliver safe, effective and lasting repairs, resolving technical problems properly rather than simply getting equipment running again temporarily.
Repairing lifts isn't just about replacing faulty parts. It's about understanding why something has failed, assessing the equipment as a whole and choosing a solution that will stand the test of time.
At WeMaintain, we want our engineers to use their technical expertise and judgement, while benefiting from the knowledge and support of the wider team.
You’ll work across different customer sites in London, adapting your approach to the technical requirements and condition of each installation.
We use technology and data to give our engineers better visibility of equipment condition and maintenance history, helping them make informed decisions in the field.
Beyond completing individual repairs, you’ll have the opportunity to share your expertise, contribute to improvements in how we work and help strengthen the reliability of the lifts we maintain.
We're looking for a hands‑on Lift Engineer with solid technical experience and a genuine interest in fault‑finding and repair work.
You should be comfortable investigating mechanical and electrical problems, understanding what needs to be repaired and taking responsibility for delivering a safe, high‑quality result.
We're particularly interested in people who are methodical, curious and determined to get to the root of technical issues rather than simply applying a short‑term fix.
These are genuine advantages, but they're not all essential. If the core
