Job summary

Ryan Specialty invites an ambitious Assistant Underwriter to join the London Renewables team. The role focuses on underwriting both onshore and offshore renewables risks, with responsibility for policy documentation and decision-making on risk acceptability.

The candidate will build strong broker relationships, develop new business, forecast premiums, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines while growing a profitable renewables portfolio.

Qualifications

• Prior renewables experience preferred, but candidates from broader energy underwriting considered.
• Experience assessing commercial risks and managing broker relationships.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal onshore and offshore business.
• Review policy forms, endorsements, and supporting documentation.
• Decide to accept, modify, or decline risks based on underwriting analysis.
• Establish coverage limits, premiums, terms, and conditions.
• Manage and grow a profitable Renewables portfolio and maintain broker relationships.

**Position Summary:**We are currently looking to our newly branded Ryan Renewables team in our London office. We are looking for a assistant underwriter ideally in the renewables market already, but could come from a broader energy background, looking to take that step up in their career.
