Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a temporary Underwriting Assistant to support our Renewable Energy team in the London area. You will provide administrative support to underwriters, log data, prepare underwriting information and handle queries with strong attention to detail.

This hybrid role offers three days in the office and two at home, with training to underwrite, review broker submissions, and communicate with brokers and stakeholders to ensure accurate quotes and efficient risk

Qualifications

• A-Levels or similar qualification.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to learn the industry, product lines and internal systems and programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to underwriters, including file maintenance, creating front sheets/workbooks and ensuring quotes, risk and endorsements are accurate across systems.
• Gather and analyse information to help underwriters evaluate risks and assist in pricing decisions.
• Monitor actions from meetings and follow up with underwriters to ensure timely completion.
• Assist Operations or Credit Control with overdue premium or aged debt queries.
• Review weekly reports to ensure data is recorded for risks and actions are completed.
• Assist in reviewing broker submissions, endorsements and renewals for accuracy and completeness; prepare for broker meetings.
• Communicate with brokers, coverholders and stakeholders to gather information and address inquiries professionally.
• Ensure underwriting decisions comply with guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Undergo extensive training to underwrite, sell to, negotiate with brokers and manage a profitable book of business.
• Begin to build relationships with Travelers employees within the unit and across the enterprise to share information and discuss cases.
