Job summary

Frontier AI Lab is seeking a VFX Artist / 3D Animator to annotate robotic arm videos for AI training. Remote contractor role with detailed guidelines, you will review footage, label motion, interactions, and outcomes, applying your timing, transforms, and spatial reasoning.

No prior AI or robotics experience required, but a solid background in visual effects or 3D animation and proficiency with major tools helps. Strong notes and attention to visual consistency are essential.

Qualifications

• Professional or academic background in visual effects, 3D animation, motion graphics, technical art, computer graphics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of motion, timing, spatial relationships, object tracking, occlusion, and visual continuity.
• Familiarity with tools such as Blender, Maya, Houdini, Cinema 4D, Nuke, After Effects, or similar software.
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when identifying subtle motion changes, visual artifacts, or inconsistencies.
• Strong written communication skills, with the ability to describe visual observations and edge cases clearly.
• Experience with video annotation, visual QA, computer vision datasets, AI training projects, or robotics is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review video footage of robotic arms performing tasks per guidelines.
• Identify and label motion, interactions, spatial changes, and outcomes.
• Apply understanding of transforms, trajectories, timing, and occlusion.
• Use annotation tools to tag video content precisely.
• Flag visual anomalies and explain observations in concise notes.
• Contribute to quality control by reviewing annotations.
