Job summary

Sulzer is a leading engineering company seeking a Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities for the UK Services business. You will manage a team of Category Buyers and Purchasing Administrators and shape category strategies to drive supplier optimisation and value creation.

The role is remote with travel across regions, offering a competitive salary, annual bonus, company car/alignment and comprehensive benefits while collaborating with operations, engineering, and finance to support

Qualifications

• Procurement experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial services or a related technical environment.
• Experience developing and embedding category-based procurement strategies across multiple spend areas.
• Experience leading and developing procurement teams.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation expertise.
• Commercial acumen balancing cost, quality and operational requirements.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and influencing decisions.
• Proactive, strategic approach to driving change and continuous improvement.
• Knowledge of SAP and/or D365 would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a team of Category Buyers and Purchasing Administrators.
• Implement category strategies to support growth and operational excellence.
• Drive supplier consolidation and standardisation across UK service network.
• Negotiate supplier agreements, rebates and terms.
• Build strategic supplier partnerships to improve service, quality and cost.
• Act as senior escalation point for supplier challenges.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery metrics and procurement KPIs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities via benchmarking and market analysis.
• Partner with operations, engineering, finance and leadership to support objectives.
• Champion procurement governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
