Job summary

Morela is seeking aJunior Machine Learning Engineer to join a venture-backed UK AI business building a new modelling and optimisation capability. You will move models from notebooks to production, writing robust production code under guidance from senior engineers.

The role centers on physics-based performance modelling, processing environmental and sensor data, and turning model outputs into actionable decisions. Start ASAP with remote UK work and SC clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Evidence you can build things; code you wrote that others can run.
• Fluent scientific Python, especially NumPy and SciPy.
• Engineering habits: test your own work and use Git in a team.
• Strong mathematical grounding from physics, maths, engineering or statistics.
• Active SC clearance.
• Desirable: Docker, optimisation, time-series or signal processing in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Writing production code and turning models from prototype into production.
• Building and testing the pipelines and tooling the models run on.
• Building the ingestion and processing for physical, environmental and sensor data.
• Implementing the optimisation that turns model outputs into decisions.
• Benchmarking and validating your own work, with outputs checked independently.
