Remote Tax Operations Analyst (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $1,800 - $2,000 USD/month depending on experience paid via direct deposit

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time

Job Overview

Our client is amongst the largest investors in the world aiming to deliver consistently above-market returns, while increasing visibility, representation, and access for all underrepresented communities in venture capital. The company co‑invests with select venture capital leads in companies resolved on building diverse and inclusive teams. They seek to drive top returns while influencing the ecosystem and representing the LGBTQ community, its allies, and a diverse group of investors within the capital stack of its portfolio companies.

The Tax Operations Analyst is responsible for ensuring that tax processes and procedures are followed and up to date on a daily basis. Project work may also be assigned as needed. The Tax Operations Analyst reports to the Senior Tax Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the tax preparers with the preparation of tax returns, including:
  • Auditing funds to determine yearly tax activity
  • Updating databases with relevant information and performing audits
  • Reaching out to portfolio companies for clarification on key dates and information
  • Compiling information relating to complicated exits and simplifying it for tax preparers
  • Building systems and workflows to improve daily process efficiency
  • Working with various teams to consolidate information from across the business
  • Providing tax support to the company's members
  • Handling main communications and scheduling with third‑party vendors
  • Preparing, reviewing, processing tax‑related legal documents
  • Performing analysis on processes and looking for efficiency improvements
  • Working with tax operations team to verify, consolidate, and audit database information to ensure accuracy and completeness for tax reporting (portfolio company data, investor data, fund data)
  • Reviewing and consolidating key information from third‑party tax documents
  • Other ad‑hoc tasks and responsibilities relating to tax preparation, tax filing, tax compliance, or tax operations
Qualifications, Skills and Key Competencies
  • Background in finance, math, business, science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced English language skills (speaking, writing, reading).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Propensity to take initiative.
  • Knowledge of venture capital investing and related terms is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • 1-2 years experience is preferred.
  • Secure Internet.
