Job description

Atomic is delighted to be partnering with a progressive and fast-growing accountancy Firm, based in the heart of Manchester, looking to add an experienced tax professional to their growing advisory Team. Over recent years, they have doubled in size and continue to expand. Their client base is made up of high-net-worth individuals, families, entrepreneurs, and a wide range of owner‑managed businesses (OMBs), many of whom are highly active in growing, acquiring, investing in, or exiting businesses and property portfolios. They pride themselves on being a great place to work, offering a supportive, rewarding and flexible environment.

Responsibilities

The Firm are seeking an experienced tax professional to join their advisory team - someone who is technically strong, client‑focused, and looking for a long‑term home where they can contribute meaningfully to both client success and firm growth. This is a key strategic hire, and as such, the role can be shaped around the experience of the successful candidate, whether that be a Tax Manager ready to step up, a proven Senior Manager, or an established Director. You'll work closely with Partners and other team members to provide wide-ranging tax advice to individuals and their businesses. This is a varied and dynamic position, offering involvement in a broad range of advisory projects, including but not limited to:

  • Corporate reconstructions (demergers/share‑for‑share exchanges)
  • Exit planning and management buy‑outs
  • Tax incentivised share schemes and EOTs
  • Residence and domicile advice for internationally mobile individuals
  • Business Investment Relief and remittance planning
  • Inheritance tax and succession planning
  • Family investment companies and trust structuring
  • Offshore trust and estate planning
  • Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) planning
  • EIS/SEIS and VCT advice for businesses and investors

You will act as a key interface between clients and HMRC, delivering detailed tax advice through reports, step plans and letters. While an interest in business development is welcome, the core of the role is delivering high‑quality technical work and nurturing long‑term relationships with clients. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Providing bespoke tax advice to a portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, families and business owners
  • Managing and delivering complex advisory projects across personal and corporate tax
  • Drafting comprehensive written advice, reports, and planning documents
  • Working directly with partners and alongside team members to support client relationships
  • Acting as a point of contact with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Supporting the ongoing development of junior staff where appropriate
  • Contributing to the firm’s continued growth and reputation for technical excellence
Requirements
  • Strong experience in tax advisory work, ideally from a mixed tax or personal tax background
  • Proven experience in delivering technical advice to a high standard
  • Excellent written communication skills - with experience drafting reports, step plans, and client correspondence
  • Professional qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA or ICAS)
  • A client‑first attitude with an emphasis on building long‑term, trusted relationships
  • An interest in working collaboratively and being part of a growing, supportive team
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple projects
