Job summary

Red Rock Consultants Ltd is seeking a Structural Engineer for a Midlands‑based, home‑based role. You will perform structural surveys and inspections across residential and commercial properties, producing detailed reports and recommendations.

You will work with Directors to manage a varied workload and visit sites throughout the Midlands and beyond. The role emphasises investigative engineering rather than pure design, with autonomy to plan your diary and locations while maintaining high

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or MICE) preferred.
• Experience undertaking structural surveys and inspections.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• Residential experience desirable; commercial experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Undertake structural surveys and inspections across residential and commercial properties.
• Assess structural defects, movement, cracking and building condition.
• Produce clear, accurate and professional structural reports with practical recommendations.
• Conduct site visits using digital surveying technology (iPads).
• Liaise directly with homeowners, commercial clients and other stakeholders.
• Carry out inspections for a range of clients, including major national logistics companies.
• Work independently while managing workload and diary.
• Support the growth of the consultancy through high-quality client service.
