Responsibilities

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations for multiple entities.
  • Coordinate research and correction of outstanding or disputed transactions.
  • Record daily cash deposits, intercompany transfers and GL transactions.
  • Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Manage credit card expense tracking application.
  • Assist with fixed asset and prepaid schedules as needed.
  • Perform medical benefit and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Record payroll transactions into Quickbooks.
  • Assist the CFO and Sr. Accountant with monthly and quarterly closeouts.
  • Assist AR with reports and/or client communications.

Job Title: Remote Staff Accountant (100% Work From Home)

Location: Remote from Latin America

Salary: $1,500 - 2,000 USD/month paid via bank transfer or Thera

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m to 5:00p.m Eastern Time

Job Overview

Our client is a leading civil engineering and construction management firm based in Northern Virginia, serving both public and private sector clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. The company specializes in site development, utilities, roadway construction, and infrastructure improvements, providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions from design through project completion. Their team is dedicated to technical excellence, client satisfaction, and delivering projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations for multiple entities
  • Coordinate research and correction of outstanding or disputed transactions
  • Record daily cash deposits, intercompany transfers and GL transactions
  • Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations (deposits, prepaids, due to/from accounts, Notes Payable)
  • Manage credit card expense tracking application (FYLE)
  • Assist with fixed asset, prepaid schedules, as needed
  • Perform medical benefit reconciliations
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations
  • Record payroll transactions into Quickbooks
  • Assist the CFO and Sr. Accountant with monthly and quarterly closeouts
  • Assist AR with reports and/or client communications (backup)
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies
  • BS degree in accounting
  • 3+ years of general accounting experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Software Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Quickbooks (desktop version) and/or Sage Intacct
Hardware Requirements
  • PC computer and 2 monitors.
  • A device with a minimum of 16GB RAM
  • A Windows-based device (no Mac computers)
  • Stable, reliable internet and a consistent, dedicated work setup at all times
Other requirements relevant to the client
  • Frequent travel or relocation should be discouraged unless they can guarantee strong connectivity
Tentative training schedule

Days 1-30;

  • Handling basic GL accounts for specific company
  • Assistance with bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Working knowledge of existing schedules
  • Working knowledge of internal sharefile network
  • Independent handling of communications with internal team members (accounting, billing, PM)

Day 31-60:

  • Independent handling of all GL accounts for all entities
  • Account reconciliations and account balance confirmations
  • Handling FYLE application and corresponding staff communications
  • Entering payroll transactions
  • Assisting with intercompany and benefit reconciliations
  • Assisting with AR communications and/or reports

61-90 days:

  • Handling of the assigned tasks independently, with additional training as required.
