About SchemeServe

Looking for someone ready for a meaningful leadership challenge.

Our mission is simple: to make insurance better.

We’re a people‑first SaaS company that believes great teams thrive when they’re supported by great leaders. We don’t do things the same way as everyone else — and we don’t expect you to have a traditional background either.

About The Role

We’re looking for someone in the UK (unfortunately we cannot accept international candidates at this time) to lead a small, friendly, high‑performing team.

Your job is to make sure your team has what they need to do their best work: clarity, support, encouragement, and a steady hand when things get busy. You’ll help shape the way the team works, coach individuals, and keep everyone aligned as priorities shift.

This role is about people, communication, problem‑solving, and adaptability — not about how technical you are.

What You’ll Do
  • Support and guide your team, ensuring they have the tools and clarity they need
  • Help people grow, learn new skills, and overcome challenges
  • Keep work flowing by resolving blockers and managing shifting priorities
  • Communicate clearly with both internal teams and external clients
  • Create a positive, safe, enjoyable environment for your team
  • Bring structure, calm, and focus — even when things get busy
  • Role‑model our people‑first approach in everything you do
What We’re Looking For

We’re not interested in long lists of rigid qualifications. We want someone who is a self‑starter, adaptable, calm under pressure, and great with people.

You should be able to:

  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Manage yourself and others in demanding or changing conditions
  • Handle multiple incoming tasks and shifting priorities
  • Communicate clearly and confidentlyLearn quickly and pick up new skills
  • Stay positive and solutions‑focused
  • Put people first and lead with empathy
  • Be willing to grow and be challenged
Your Background Might Be In…
  • A/V or production managers
  • Theatre or creative technical directors
  • Restaurant or hospitality general managers
  • Youth sports coaches
  • Military NCOs (non‑commissioned officers)
  • Event or operations coordinators
  • Customer support team leads
  • Startup founders (including those who "failed with grace")
  • Or anywhere else where you’ve had to lead people, manage complexity, handle pressure, and keep a team motivated
Beneficial But Not Required
  • Experience working in a technology company
  • Experience in the insurance world (Neither is essential — we’ll support you to learn anything you need)
Why You Might Love This Role
  • A chance to make a real difference to real people
  • A supportive, human‑centred culture
  • Varied work where no two days are the same
  • Room to grow, learn, and shape your career
  • A team that values kindness, honesty, and curiosity
  • A genuinely welcoming environment for career‑changers
