Job summary

A growing game studio is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to enhance networking foundations for a large-scale multiplayer world. You will lead the design and optimization of systems inside Unreal Engine 5, tackling challenges such as latency and server stability. Ideal candidates should have over 5 years of network programming experience and a passion for multiplayer solutions. This full-time role is remote-first and intended to start as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network programming for games, including shipping multiplayer titles in Unreal Engine.
• Deep understanding of TCP / IP, UDP, sockets, NAT traversal, packet fragmentation, and latency mitigation techniques.
• Solid grasp of client-server architectures, replication strategies, and packet serialization/compression.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement server meshing systems for seamless player transitions.
• Modify and optimize Unreal Engine’s networking architecture for high player counts.
• Reduce server performance costs while optimizing bandwidth usage.
