Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Software Engineer to lead backend development across scalable services and APIs. You will design, implement, and optimize server-side systems while mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative, remote-first environment.

The role requires strong proficiency in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go, plus experience with cloud platforms and microservices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Node.js, or Go.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) experience desirable.
• Familiarity with microservices and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving and communication for remote teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, well-documented code in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate server-side logic.
• Optimize for speed, scalability and reliability.
• Design database schemas for PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Implement security and data protection measures.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and roadmaps.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
