Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Data Programmer to join the Clinical Support Services team on a full-time, permanent basis. Working remotely within the UK, you will extract, transform, and report complex clinical datasets with accuracy and timeliness in line with regulatory guidelines.

You will develop reusable SAS code, prepare SDTM/ADaM datasets, and mentor staff while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline; SAS certification may be considered in lieu of education.
• Significant experience with SAS in regulated environments or clinical research.
• Proficiency with SAS macros, arrays, SQL, SAS Graph and multiple output formats (RTF/XML/XPT).
• Experience with other programming languages (.NET, VBA) is a plus.
• Familiarity with the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Produce production clinical datasets using established systems and code.
• Develop reusable code to generate datasets for testing and live data.
• Prepare SDTM and/or ADaM datasets as needed.
• Review data and code for integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Lead troubleshooting of generic or study-specific code and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain study documentation, SOPs, and quality control records.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to provide quality products and services.
• Mentor peers and support scheduling and administrative tasks.
