Job summary

TXP is seeking a QA Engineer for a 6-month contract to deliver automated testing for a UK government project. The role is primarily remote with occasional travel to UK sites, and requires BPSS screening.

You will design and maintain automated test frameworks using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Java and BDD, test REST APIs and microservices in an AWS environment, and work within Agile teams to ensure secure, high‑quality releases.

Qualifications

• Experience with QA automation using Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, Java and BDD.
• Hands-on RESTful API and microservices testing.
• Cloud testing in AWS and CI/CD integration.
• Strong troubleshooting and defect management.
• Experience with performance testing, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Security or accessibility testing experience is a plus.
• Experience delivering Government or Public Sector programmes.
• Self-starter with proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and suites.
• Create functional, regression, API and end-to-end tests.
• Test AWS-hosted, cloud-native applications and distributed Microservices.
• Embed quality across the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines and shift-left practices.
• Analyse results, manage defects and support root cause analysis.
• Help ensure solutions meet functional, performance, security and other non-functional requirements.
