Job summary

SR2 is seeking a hands-on Python Developer for an initial 6-month contract (Outside IR35). The role is primarily remote with occasional travel to client sites in the UK.

You’ll own parts of a live service, write production Python, and help scale the platform as new judgments flow in weekly. You should bring strong commercial Python experience, a habit of tests and CI/CD, and the confidence to ship with minimal direction.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Python experience.
• Ability to take a problem, shape it and ship without hand-holding.
• Live-service habits: tests, code review, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Join the client, a digital partner embedded with a central government body for over four years.
• Work alongside a Lead Dev, Front-End Dev, .NET Dev and Delivery Manager.
• Own a part of the service end to end, sometimes one nobody else is touching.
• Write production Python for a live, open-source public service.
• Help the platform scale as courts send in more judgments every week.
