Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Occupational Hygienist for a global mining leader. The role focuses on identifying and controlling health hazards across mining operations, with responsibilities for dust, noise, chemicals, and ergonomic risks, all from a home office.

Candidates should have a bachelor's or master's in occupational hygiene, CIH or equivalent desirable, and at least six years in the field. This remote position may prefer proximity to Randburg, Gauteng, ZA, but welcomes exceptional

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Health, or related field.
• CIH or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum 6 years in occupational hygiene with mining experience.
• Experience identifying and controlling dust, noise, chemicals, and other hazards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hygiene assessments and risk evaluations in mining operations.
• Develop and implement control programs to minimize exposure.
• Oversee monitoring programs including sampling and data interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Provide expert guidance to management and safety teams.
• Create training materials on hygiene principles and safe practices.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of assessments and monitoring data.
