Job summary

La Fosse Associates is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Security Engineer to secure and standardise Microsoft environments across a complex enterprise estate. The role emphasizes hands-on policy development, device onboarding and secure baselines, with a strong focus on automation.

The successful candidate will have deep experience with M365, Defender XDR, Intune and Entra ID, and will support integration across new and existing environments while guiding IT teams to BAU.

Responsibilities

• Implementing and managing Microsoft security controls across M365, Microsoft Defender XDR, Intune, Entra ID and Defender for Cloud, ensuring environments meet defined security baselines and standards.
• The role will involve hands on policy development, device onboarding, Conditional Access, compliance configuration and security testing, with a strong focus on automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API and JSON.
• You will also support the integration of Microsoft security technologies across new and existing environments, providing technical guidance to IT teams and helping ensure security controls are effectively implemented and transitioned into BAU.
• We are looking for strong practical experience across the Microsoft security stack, particularly M365, Defender XDR, Intune and Entra ID, alongside excellent communication skills; Azure security, IAM, M&A and knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS frameworks would be advantageous.
