Job summary

Ethos is seeking experienced mechanical design engineers to review engineering drawings and CAD models for quality and realism. You will check drawings for completeness, assess manufacturability, and verify CAD models against the bills of materials, delivering concise findings with pass/fix/reject calls.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years in design, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks/NX/Creo/Fusion 360/Onshape/FreeCAD) and solid understanding of GD&T, datums and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a mechanical/product design engineer with parts released for manufacture.
• Proficient in at least one parametric CAD package and able to work in FreeCAD.
• Strong ability to read and critique drawings to ISO/ASME conventions: GD&T, fits, datums, section views.
• Knowledge of machining, sheet metal, castings and standard hardware.
• Experience reviewing other engineers' drawings is a plus.
• Clear, concise written feedback and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Check drawings for completeness and ambiguity: views, dimensions, datums, tolerances and notes.
• Judge whether the design is realistic: manufacturable parts, sensible fits and hardware, mechanisms that work as described.
• Check CAD models and feature trees against the drawings and the parts list.
• Write short, specific findings with a clear pass / fix / reject call.
