Outlier is seeking backend engineers to shape the future of autonomous AI agents. This freelance, remote role offers up to $50 USD/hr and weekly payments, with flexible hours and payment options via ACH/PayPal.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in backend engineering, AI automation, or complex systems integration and a track record of production-grade software with modular architecture. Contributors work on live systems, integrating multi-turn workflows and providing high-density technical feedback

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering, AI automation, or complex systems integration.
• Experience building for live, non-mocked environments and handling multi-turn system interactions.
• Ability to provide clear, high-density technical feedback on complex system behaviors.
• Proven ability to build and maintain production-grade software with modular separation (e.g., distinct services for data parsing, logic processing, and reporting).
• Excellent debugging and profiling skills with a focus on reliability.
