Job summary

Picture More Ltd. is hiring a hands-on Head of Development to lead a growing software team of six in a remote setting across the UK. You will mentor engineers, improve SDLC practices and ensure delivery quality while staying technically active in architecture decisions.

Initial onboarding in the South East (approximately 2 days per week for the first 2 months) will ease ramp-up, with excellent salaries and bonuses on top for a senior engineering leader.

Qualifications

• Experience leading software development teams.
• Strong background in SaaS or enterprise software.
• Expertise in SDLC, Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a six-person software team.
• Assess and improve the current software development life cycle.
• Introduce and embed effective SDLC, Agile and DevOps practices.
• Improve backlog management, estimation and release planning.
• Establish engineering standards, ownership, metrics and reporting.
• Improve software quality and reduce technical debt.
• Support software architecture and technical decision-making.
• Collaborate with Product, Support and Professional Services teams.
• Prioritise customer-impacting issues and delivery objectives.
• Communicate confidently with internal stakeholders and customers.
