Turner Property Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading property and construction consultancy seeking a Graduate Building Surveyor to join their expanding Midlands-based team. This permanent role offers exposure to a wide range of projects across sectors, with a significant focus on NHS, education, and the public sector.

Purpose of the Role

To provide professional advisory services across all aspects of Building Surveying and Project Management, supporting the wider business and contributing to the delivery of high-quality client services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering the full range of Building Surveying and Project Management services, including specifications and schedules of works.
  • Issuing tender documents and running competitive tenders.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Producing contract documentation and reviewing interim payments.
  • Change control and risk register management.
  • Attending progress meetings.
  • Conducting condition surveys, defect analysis, and recommending remediation strategies.
  • Life Cycle / Planned Preventative Maintenance surveys.
  • Latent Defect surveys.
  • Collaborate with project teams and support senior staff in project delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance standards.
Essential Experience

Experience with defect analysis and building pathology, providing recommendations for remedial works. Strong specification writing skills, including using NBS software.

Understanding of JCT Contracts and Contract Administration

Experience in undertaking surveys such as Schedules of Condition, PPMs, or similar.

Knowledge of project management principles

Understanding of fire safety requirements (Approved Document B, British Standards, guidance). Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation. Clean driving licence.

Qualifications

Desirable Experience
  • Project management exposure.
  • Business development experience.
  • Knowledge of passive fire protection, compartmentation, and fire stopping.
  • Experience with latent defect surveys and Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Familiarity with other contract forms, such as NEC.
  • CAD skills and understanding of fire strategy principles.
