Job summary

Berkeley Square IT is seeking a Software Developer (Generative AI) for a fully remote contract with SC clearance. You will help develop a Generative AI‑based conversational tool for government communicators, leveraging RAG and LLMs, with Python on AWS.

The role focuses on secure AI tooling, API development with FastAPI, and collaboration with peers. The contract runs until the tax year end, with the potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Experience with Generative AI and large language models (LLMs).
• Familiarity with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and functionality.
• Proficiency in Python programming language.
• Strong understanding of security best practices in AI tooling development.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience building APIs with FastAPI.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine existing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) functionality and system prompting features.
• Work on the design and development of new features such as sentiment analysis, data ingestion, and synthetic audience creation.
• Build and maintain a web API using FastAPI, hosted on AWS.
• Collaborate with other Software Developers to organise tasks and deliver work efficiently.
• Contribute to technical decision-making processes and collaborate with the team to ensure informed decisions on application design and testing approaches.
