Job summary

DataAnnotation is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to evaluate how frontier AI models handle real electrical and electronics engineering tasks. You bring the professional judgment from years of hardware design, debugging, and shipping, while we provide engineering problems models cannot yet solve alone.

This independent contractor role lets you choose projects, work on your own schedule from home, and earn hourly pay up to $40-$125 USD with potential bonus rates on some projects.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (native or bilingual level).
• 2+ years of industry experience in circuit or electronics engineering.
• Background in electrical/electronics engineering or related discipline.
• Strong command of circuit analysis and design tradeoffs.
• Ability to articulate why an answer is wrong, not only that it is.
• Familiarity with AI tools or quick learner ability.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design challenging, realistic engineering problems from your practice.
• Run problems through frontier AI models and judge output to professional standard.
• Compare model versions on prompts and assess performance.
• Critique model-generated derivations and write the reasoning behind decisions.
• Flag concrete failures with evidence (errors, unphysical results, etc.).
• Contribute across analog, RF, mixed-signal, electromagnetics, and power systems.
