Job summary

Axon Moore is seeking an experienced Drupal Technical Lead to join its dynamic web development team. This role invites you to own the technical architecture and lead the development of enterprise‑level Drupal applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable and performant.

You will mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices across the team. The position is remote with occasional travel to Birmingham, London, Cardiff or Swansea, offering a flexible arrangement

Qualifications

• Experience with Drupal 10+ and PHP development.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• Certifications in Drupal or web technologies are advantageous.
• Experience leading technical projects or mentoring developers.
• Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms such as AWS or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise Drupal applications with emphasis on security, performance, and accessibility.
• Design and develop backend systems using PHP and Drupal 10+ frameworks; integrate front-end with TypeScript, Twig, and Tailwind CSS.
• Implement best practices for security, scalability, and performance across projects.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior developers.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and promote development best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
• Manage source control and deployment workflows with Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Jenkins.
• Utilize Composer, Drush, and DDEV for dependency management and development environment setup.
• Support SEO and accessibility standards and produce clear technical documentation.
• Participate in an Agile environment and contribute to continuous improvement.
