Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Digital Architect with extensive defence experience to lead digital transformation programmes for UK defence clients within the Secure Government unit. The role involves bridging operational users, decision-makers and technology delivery teams, applying frameworks like TOGAF and ArchiMate, and leveraging AI-enabled tools responsibly.

You will operate in a flexible, hybrid work model with potential overseas opportunities, supported by training and development investments

Qualifications

Education: Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: Defence, aerospace, or national security sectors – C4ISR desirable.
Technical knowledge: broad across software, infrastructure and networks; able to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of information-driven decision-making in Defence environments.
TOGAF, NAF v4 familiarity; ArchiMate modelling.
Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and evaluating outputs with domain expertise.

Responsibilities

Bridge the gap between operational users, senior decision-makers and technology delivery teams.
Engage with stakeholders at all levels from front-line users to executive decision-makers.
Rapidly assimilate complex information, identify patterns, and apply lessons learned.
Develop operational, business, information and enterprise architecture products.
Work in environments with evolving requirements and ambiguous pathways to delivery.
Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate research, analysis, modelling and documentation.
