Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Chemical Engineer to join a global specialty chemicals team. You will design and optimize formulations for coatings, adhesives, personal care, and industrial products, working fully remotely with R&D and market teams.

The ideal candidate has a solid background in chemical engineering or chemistry, 6+ years of formulation development, and strong communication skills for virtual collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical formulation development.
• Proven expertise in formulating products such as coatings, adhesives, surfactants, or personal care products.
• Strong understanding of physical chemistry, colloid science, and material properties.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and analytical techniques for characterization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize novel chemical formulations for various end-use applications.
• Conduct experimental work to evaluate raw material performance and product properties.
• Design and execute laboratory tests to assess product stability, efficacy, and compatibility.
• Troubleshoot formulation challenges and identify root causes of product defects.
• Scale up laboratory formulations to pilot and manufacturing processes.
• Prepare technical documentation, including formulation recipes, process descriptions, and test reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing.
• Stay current with industry trends, new raw materials, and emerging technologies in specialty chemicals.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
