Job summary

A leading energy solutions company is looking for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Engineer based in Birmingham. You will support the development and optimization of grid-scale energy storage assets while acting as a technical specialist for BESS and SCADA systems. The ideal candidate has experience in renewable energy and electrical design, along with a strong understanding of industry standards and technologies. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance asset performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in utilities, renewable energy, or grid-scale energy storage.
• Strong understanding of electrical design for renewable energy, energy storage, or HV substation integration.
• Experience with industrial control systems and SCADA, including PPCs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical expert for BESS, PPC and SCADA systems across operational assets.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to operations, commercial, and trading teams.
• Lead or support fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis activities.
