Job summary

MERITUS are recruiting for a Cloud Migration Lead to join one of our clients on an initial contract basis. This is a hands on technical leadership role focused on delivering a large scale datacentre exit programme, migrating critical production environments from on premises infrastructure into AWS.

The role is remote (UK) with occasional travel, inside IR35 (assessment pending), and a daily rate of £800. The contract runs through December 2026 and requires strong AWS migration expertise and IaC

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering enterprise-scale datacentre to cloud migrations.
• Strong AWS infrastructure and migration expertise.
• Solid understanding of traditional datacentre environments (VMware).
• Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of datacentre to AWS migrations.
• Review, improve and extend migration automation using Infrastructure as Code.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple application migration teams.
• Define migration sequencing, architecture and deployment strategy.
• Identify and resolve infrastructure, networking, licensing and compatibility issues.
• Own production cutover planning, execution and rollback strategies.
• Work with engineering teams to ensure consistent technical standards.
• Communicate risks, progress and decisions to senior stakeholders.
