Job summary

Alignerr is seeking PhD-level applied physicists to stress-test AI models by crafting challenging physics problems and validating AI reasoning against physical laws. This fully remote, hourly-contract role offers flexible hours (10–40h/week) and freelance autonomy.

You will design open-ended questions, provide rigorous golden solutions, and evaluate AI outputs for consistency across classical mechanics, electromagnetism, and quantum mechanics.

Qualifications

• PhD or near-complete PhD in Applied Physics or closely related field.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced physics problems at PhD-level for multi-step reasoning.
• Author rigorous, step-by-step solutions with correct constants and units.
• Audit AI reasoning for physical consistency and identify violations of first principles.
• Refine model behaviour to respect conservation laws, boundary conditions, and dimensional analysis.
• Cover topics across classical mechanics, electrodynamics, statistical mechanics, and quantum mechanics.
