Job summary

Blue Zoo Production in the United Kingdom is seeking a talented 3D Character Designer to create stylised characters that fit the show's style and narrative. You will work closely with the Art Director to develop persona, appeal and design within briefs.

You will research references, explore character through concept, and collaborate with the team to interpret concepts and support others. Strong drawing skills, anatomy knowledge and proficiency with design tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Adaptable to different styles of show.
• Strong working knowledge of design tools such as Cintiq, Photoshop or other applicable design software.
• Creative flair and strong perspective drawing skills.
• Excellent understanding of volumes and human anatomy.
• Able to convey emotional and physical traits of a character through exploratory design.
• Team player, able to take direction from leads and art director.
• Portfolio showing competency in a variety of styles.
• Established experience within the animation industry.

Responsibilities

• Designing the style, appeal and persona of characters in the production based on story requirements and given brief.
• Researching and exploring character through reference.
• Working as part of a team to interpret assigned concepts and supporting other members of your team when required.
• Managing your assets and time efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Responding positively to notes and feedback.
