The Opportunity

As a skilled Remediation Engineer, you will play a key role working across a diverse range of remediation projects including, contaminated land, groundwater treatment, and complex site enabling works valued between £10k - £2m. You will apply your engineering expertise to assess site conditions, develop and implement remediation strategies, ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and provide technical guidance throughout the project's lifecycles, contributing to the successful and efficient completion of each project.

What We're Looking For
Relevant Qualifications
  • Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or related - desirable however is not essential
Membership of CIWM (Chartered Institute of Waste Management) / aiming towards

Experience
  • Proven experience of working on a wide range of remediation projects
  • Extensive background within the industry with a minimum of 3 years' experience working in remediation, engineering geology, geo-environmental, contaminated land, water, or related sectors

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental and geotechnical site assessments
  • Implement environmentally responsible remediation practices
  • Adjust remediation strategies as needed to achieve project goals
  • Supervise remediation works on site, ensuring safety and efficiency
  • Prepare technical reports, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Apply problem-solving skills to overcome site-related obstacles efficiently
  • Identify contamination levels, environmental hazards, and site constraints
  • Design engineering solutions for soil, groundwater, or structural contamination
  • Develop remedial action plans based on site data and regulatory requirements
  • Attend multiple project locations, with transportation provided via company vehicle
  • Present technical findings and recommendations in a and professional manner
  • Evaluate risks to human health and the environment and recommend mitigation measures
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration between clients, regulators, and subcontractors
  • Provide support in conducting technical assessments, carrying out verifications, and preparing reports
  • Ensure all remediation works comply with environmental laws, health and safety standards, and permits
  • Contribute to the development of method statements, risk assessments, and key project documentation to maintain compliance and safety standards
  • Oversee and coordinate remediation works across a variety of sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the required standards
  • Direct the planning and execution of remediation works on diverse projects, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards
