Job description

Job Title: Lead Remedial Engineer

Location: Luton, Berkshire.

Salary / Benefits: £22k – £35k + Training + Benefits

Exciting opportunity within a privately owned Legionella/Water Treatment business for an experienced Remedial Engineer. Candidates must be NVQ qualified in Plumbing, able to work independently and within a team of other Technicians across blue chip client offices, government and retail sites carrying out basic to more complex plumbing duties on hot and cold water systems; providing advice on productivity, ordering parts and equipment and troubleshooting. In return the client can offer above average salary, attractive overtime rates and scope to move into a supervisory role long term.

Experience & Qualifications

• Holding the City and Guilds / NVQ L2/L3 qualification is essential to the role.
• Experience working as a Remedial Engineer or Lead Plumber for an established outfit.
• Ideally will hold G3 Unvented and/ or WREGS certificate.
• Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety / ACoP L8 guidelines.
• Familiar using onsite logbooks.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.

The Role

• Removal of redundant pipework and installation of new systems up to 4inch (PVC, Copper and Galvanised).
• Unvented cylinder installation and general servicing.
• Installation and refurbishments of CWST’s with associated pipework.
• Installation of expansion vessels, isolation valves and drain off valves.
• Installation of thermostatic mixing valves.
• Calorifier servicing and inspections.
• Identifying faults in systems and troubleshooting on site.
• Ordering of parts and equipment and pricing/quoting for smaller install and refurbishment works.
• Carrying out some general L8 compliance tasks where required or to assist the hygiene team.
• Ensuring onsite logbooks are accurate and up to date.
• Working in line with ACoP L8 / Health & Safety guidelines.
• Liaising with clients, providing support and advice where required.
