Job summary

A leading care organization in Northern Ireland is seeking dedicated support staff to provide high-quality care to individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. You will develop and implement individual support plans while collaborating with statutory professionals. Ideal candidates will have experience in positive behaviour support and excellent communication skills. Shifts may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work various shifts including days, nights, evenings, and weekends.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience of the positive behaviour support model of care.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with service users.
  • Contribute to and maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support service users to manage their health and wellbeing through individual support plans.
  • Work closely with statutory professionals to ensure consistent delivery of care plans.
  • Encourage involvement of service users in decision making.

To provide the highest possible standard of care and support to the people who use our services through actively promoting and implementing a values, rights and strengths based person centred approach. This includes implementing person centred care and support plans alongside the commissioning Trust’s care, support and behavioural intervention plans.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a trusting and professional relationship with the people who use our services and act in a supportive and empathetic manner towards them.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a harmonious and therapeutic environment.
  • Support the people who use our services to manage their physical health, mental health and wellbeing through the development, implementation and monitoring of individual support plans.
  • Work closely with statutory professionals, including the Positive Behaviour Support Service and Intensive Behaviour Support Services to ensure behavioural intervention plans are delivered consistently and appropriately as outlined by the commission.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of the people who use our services in all aspects of decision making, be sensitive and seek solutions to difficulties encountered by the people who use our services.
Skills and Qualifications
  • To be willing to work various shifts which may include days, nights, evenings and weekends.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism.
  • A minimum of 6 months’ experience of the positive behaviour support model of care.
