Job summary

Sense is seeking a Relief Support Worker based at our Residential service at Horse Gate, Peterborough. Casual posts are flexible with no fixed shifts, and you will support individuals with complex needs including physical disabilities and challenging behavior.

You will help people live the life they choose, encourage independence, and support learning activities in college such as cooking, gardening, and trips to parks or pools. DBS checks are required, and driving is desirable for this locale.

Qualifications

• An awareness of multi-sensory and complex needs.
• Able to demonstrate that you possess the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.
• A willingness to undertake personal care for our more vulnerable learners.
• Flexibility, as working times do vary and may include weekends and evenings, we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly.

Responsibilities

• As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose
• You will support individuals and encourage them to make choices, to express themselves and to develop independent living and life skills
• Supporting people at college to learn new skills such as cooking, gardening, music or on trips to locations such as swimming pools, parks and shopping centres
