Job summary

Ornua Co-operative Limited is seeking a Relief Night Shift Manager to oversee production lines, ensure targets and efficiencies are met, and drive continuous improvement. The role emphasizes health and safety, quality control, and staff development within a manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will manage on-shift activities, support cross-functional initiatives, and uphold Ornua’s commitment to safety and quality across our European and global operations.

Qualifications

• Food Hygiene Level 2 (Level 3 preferred).
• Proven track record in recruiting, managing, motivating and training staff.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and technical legislation/SOPs.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of MS Office and food manufacturing software (e.g., M3, Redzone).

Responsibilities

• Fully run the shift in the Shift Manager's absence and attend meetings.
• Complete daily shift reports.
• Lead investigations of incidents and near misses.
• Drive improvements and line effectiveness through cross-functional collaboration.
• Ensure adherence to Quality, Hygiene, GMP policies and Safe Operating Procedures.
• Record production activity and manage quality checks and KPI monitoring.
• Oversee labour/skills via shift planned rota and cover on-line when needed.
