Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking a Relief General Kitchen Assistant to work across Corneli Primary School and other schools in the County Borough. You will assist with the preparation, presentation and service of school meals in a safe, clean environment for pupils and staff.

Hours are between 10:00 and 14:30, Monday to Friday, term time only. A Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate is required; DBS check is essential, with training provided if necessary to obtain it.

• Enhanced DBS check required (Disclosure & Barrings Service).

Relief General Kitchen Assistant - Corneli Primary School

Providing primary, secondary and special school meals to 56 schools across the county borough, Catering Services have a variety of opportunities for you to work as a General Kitchen Assistant across their service and would like to hear from you.

The role includes assisting in the preparation, presentation and service of school meals, whilst providing a safe, clean environment to pupils and staff. You will be required to lay out dining tables and chairs and, in some schools, operate a touch screen terminal - training will be provided upon start.

Cover at schools across the County Borough is a requirement of the role as well as having a Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate; training will be provided if necessary to help you obtain this.

Working hours will be confirmed upon appointment but will be between the hours of 10.00am and 2.30pm, to support the mid - morning break and lunchtime periods, Monday to Friday, term time only.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
